Certification consultancy

 

Since its establishment, OFRC has given its advisory service to more than 10,000 producers from nearly 500 organic farms that include Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., Taishan Asiafood Co., Ltd., Shandong Sanlu Group Co., Ltd., China Yurun Food Group Limited, Shanghai Wanshifa Co., Ltd., Panjin Dingxiang Agricultural & Industrial Construction (Group) Co., Ltd., Hong Kong Organic Country Ltd. etc.

On the consulted farms, the products involve eight sorts: vegetable, tea, rice, soybean, fruit, animal products, sea products and Chinese herb.



            

Schemes Compiling
OFRC has compiled:

l        the first organic food development schemes for those of the municipal and prefecture level, provincial capitals and cities in provincial scales, i.e., Organic Food Development Scheme for Guiyang, Guizhou Province, Organic Food Development Scheme for Uygur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang, Organic Food Development Scheme for Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, and Organic Food Development Scheme for Panjing, Liaoning Province. Moreover, OFRC also compiles development planning for those at county level and organic enterprises, such as “Development Scheme for Organic Sea Product of Zhejiang Pinyang Nanji Island Development Co., Ltd., and complies “Guidance for Regional Organic Food Development Schemes Compilation” committed by Ministry of Environmental Protection of P.R. China.

l         Scheme for the construction of eco-counties, such as for Baoying County and Xinghua City in Jiangsu Province.

l         Development scheme for organic farming circular economy, such as development scheme on organic vegetable circular economy for Wuhan Lvhuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

l         Construction scheme for organic food production base, such as “Construction Scheme for Organic Valley of Jiangsu Xuelanghu Co., Ltd.”  A dozen organic production bases consulted by OFRC have been nominated “China National Organic Food Production Bases” by Ministry of Environmental Protection of P. R. China, such as Shanghai Yuejin Agriculture Management Station and Shanghai Yangtse Group. OFRC also has worked on documents review and evaluation on China National Organic Food Production Bases

 


 

Subjects Research

In the aspect of subject research, OFRC has:

l        Participated in Sino-GTZ project- “Developing Organic Farming in Poverty-Stricken Area in China” (lasting for 5 years), and established an organic base (tea and kiwi fruit ) in Dabie Mountain area of Anhui Province.(1998-2003)

l         Participated in the project- “Study on Key Technologies for Food Safety in Production” (2001-2003)

l        Took charge of the project-“Study on Manufacturing and Applied Technique of Organic Commercial Fertile during Organic Food Production” (2004)

l        Host the project-“Study on Organic Food and Bases Construction in Jiangsu Province” (2003-2004)

l        Joined in the project - “ Preliminary Design on Control Engineering of Agriculture Non-point Pollution in South-north Water Transfer Project in Yangzhou City” (2004)

l        Been responsible for the subjects- “Study on Soil Fertility Improvement and Pest Control Technology in Organic Rice Production”  and “Comparative Study on Organic Soybean Production Technology” (2003-2006)

l        Play an important role in the research subject-“Evaluation on the Influence of Water Pollution in Songhua River on the Farm and Sideline Products Quality”

l        Take charge of composing and summarizing documents for application of the research subject-“Pollution System Control Technology Integration and Program Demonstration in the Headwater of Dongjiang River”

l        Take charge of the research subject-“Survey on Pollution Discharge Coefficient in Farm Production”

l         Play a role in the project-“Evaluation on the Influence of Social and Economic Activities along Drainage Area on Lake Pollution

l         Take charge of the pilot work of the project-“Developing Organic Farming for Non-point Source Pollution Control in Taihu Basin

 

Training

OFRC has held:

l        Two training courses on “Developing Organic Food” for Ministry of Agriculture of Bangladesh ;

l        Training course on  China nationwide organic farming methods and product marketing”;

l        Courses for interior inspectors in organic farms

l        Training courses for every farm consulted by OFRC on organic production and methods



 

International cooperation
OFRC has:

l        As the specialist, given advisory service to WWF, GTZ, AMBER Foundation, Sino-Holland Poverty- alleviation Cooperation Project, Sino-Canada Poverty-alleviation Cooperation Project in Guizhou Province

l        Acted as the technical adviser for organic farm of American Nutrilite Company and finished its project on organic soybean production technology.

l        Joined in “Sino-Italy environmental Protection Cooperative Project”.

l        Offered advisory services to Gerson Lehrman Group and been appointed as project consultation trainer

l        Established cooperation relationship with IFOAM , offering advisory services


 

 


 

 

Papers and Monographs

l        OFRC has published series of technical manuals, three monographs and over 40 papers on organic farming

l        OFRC has got one patent for invention awarded by State Intellectual Property Office of P.R. China and applied for one patent with partners.
